EGBANK, SC Bank, and ADIB-Egypt Lead Private Banks in Net Interest Income Growth During H1 2025

EGBANK topped the list of the fastest-growing private banks in terms of net interest income (NII), recording a growth rate of 54.5%, while SC Bank ranked second with a 52% growth rate.

ADIB–Egypt secured the third position with a 35.1% growth rate, followed by ADCB and NBK-Egypt, which captured the fourth and fifth positions with growth rates of 32.9% and 30.9%, respectively, during the first half of 2025.

ABK–Egypt, Al Baraka Bank, and Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt were also among the top 10 fastest-growing private banks in net interest income, with growth rates of 27.7%, 27.5%, and 27.49%, respectively.

The First Bank report on the fastest-growing private sector banks in net interest income during the first half of 2025 revealed that EGBANK topped the list with a 54.5% increase, as its NII rose to EGP 3.99 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 2.58 billion in H1 2024.

The report, which covered 21 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector with available financial statements for the period under review, showed that 18 banks achieved positive growth rates, while three banks recorded declines in NII during the first half of 2025, based on each bank’s independently published financial statements.

Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» ranked second with a 52% growth rate, as its NII increased to EGP 3.87 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 2.54 billion a year earlier.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB–Egypt» came third with a 35.1% rise, recording EGP 9.36 billion in NII, up from EGP 6.93 billion in the same period of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank-Egypt «ADCB–Egypt» ranked fourth with a 32.9% growth rate, reaching EGP 4.96 billion in H1 2025 versus EGP 3.73 billion in H1 2024.

National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK–Egypt» followed in fifth place, as its NII grew by 30.9%, reaching EGP 6.74 billion compared to EGP 5.15 billion in the same period of the previous year.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK–Egypt» took sixth place with a 27.7% increase in NII, reaching EGP 3.81 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 2.99 billion in H1 2024.

Al Baraka Bank ranked seventh, posting a 27.5% growth rate to record EGP 3.64 billion, while Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt followed closely in eighth with 27.49%, achieving EGP 4.95 billion in NII, up from EGP 3.89 billion a year earlier.

Bank of Alexandria «Alex Bank» ranked ninth with a 25% increase, recording EGP 11.1 billion in NII versus EGP 8.88 billion in H1 2024.

Meanwhile, Commercial International Bank «CIB» came in tenth, posting a 23.4% rise, as its NII reached EGP 51.15 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 41.44 billion in the same period of 2024.
