«HD Bank», «EGBANK» and «SC Bank» Fastest-Growing Banks in Net Interest Income During H1-2025

HD Bank topped the list of the fastest-growing banks in net interest income, recording a growth rate of 62%.

EGBANK came second with a growth rate of 54.5%, while SC Bank secured third place with 52%.

Meanwhile, ADIB-Egypt and ADCB ranked fourth and fifth, with growth rates of 35.1% and 32.9%, respectively, during the first half of 2025.

NBK-Egypt, Banque du Caire, and ABK-Egypt were also among the top 10 fastest-growing banks in net interest income, with growth rates of 30.9%, 28.9%, and 27.7%, respectively.

First Bank’s list of the fastest-growing banks in net interest income during the first half of 2025 revealed that Housing and Development Bank (HDB) topped the ranking, with its net interest income rising by 62% to EGP 13.30 billion, compared to EGP 8.21 billion in H1-2024.

The list, which covered 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, showed that 21 banks recorded positive growth, while four banks witnessed a notable decline in net interest income during H1-2025.

EGBANK secured second place with a 54.5% increase, as its net interest income climbed to EGP 3.99 billion in H1-2025, up from EGP 2.58 billion in the same period of 2024.

Suez Canal Bank ranked third with a 52% growth rate, as its net interest income rose to EGP 3.87 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 2.54 billion in H1-2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) came fourth, posting a 35.1% increase in net interest income, which reached EGP 9.36 billion in H1-2025, up from EGP 6.93 billion in the corresponding period of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt (ADCB) followed in fifth place, recording a 32.9% growth in net interest income to EGP 4.96 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 3.73 billion in H1-2024.

National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (NBK-Egypt) secured sixth place, with net interest income up 30.9% to EGP 6.74 billion in H1-2025, versus EGP 5.15 billion in H1-2024.

Banque du Caire came seventh, recording a 28.9% increase as net interest income rose to EGP 16.55 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 12.84 billion a year earlier.

Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (ABK-Egypt) ranked eighth, with its net interest income climbing 27.7% to EGP 3.81 billion in H1-2025, up from EGP 2.99 billion in H1-2024.

Al Baraka Bank came ninth, with net interest income growing 27.5% to EGP 3.64 billion in H1-2025, compared to EGP 2.85 billion in H1-2024.

Finally, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt secured tenth place, posting a 27.49% increase in net interest income to EGP 4.95 billion in H1-2025, versus EGP 3.89 billion in H1-2024.

It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned above are based on the independently published financial statements of each bank as of June 2025.
