Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday’s closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday with increase in the market cap by 1.20% or EGP 256.216 billion compared to EGP 253.175 billion at the end of Wednesday’s session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.75% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 348.218 million which represents 14.36% of the total trading volume today after 9.565 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.36% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session on a mixed note, with the EGX30 main index adding 0.40% to 16,183.49 points.
On the other hand, the EGX50 EWI went down by 0.12% to 2,854.47 points.
Furthermore, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI as well as EGX100 EWI indices ended the session lower by 1.01% to 2,983.64 points and by 0.80% to 4,454.06 points, respectively.
The turnover amounted to EGP 2.42 billion after 704.26 million shares were exchanged during the session. The market cap value reached EGP 1.05 trillion.
