The First Bank Composite Index for the fastest-growing banks in Egypt during the first half of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» topped the ranking, having recorded a composite growth rate of 48.4% during the first 6 months of the year, supported by a 70.6% surge in its net profit, a 29.3% increase in its deposit portfolio, in addition to a rise in its assets—excluding loans—by 28.8%, along with a 21.6% increase in its total loan portfolio, which reinforced its position at the top of the index.
The First Bank Composite Growth Index relied in its ranking of banks operating within the Egyptian banking sector on four key indicators that reflect the actual pace of growth during the first half of 2025. These include the growth of net profit, total loans, customer deposit portfolios, in addition to the growth of total assets excluding loans, given that loans are already included as a core indicator within the composite growth measure, each weighted differently.
The performance of each bank in these indicators was measured relative to the averages of the Egyptian banking sector, based on data issued by the Central Bank of Egypt, with the aim of providing a relative and objective assessment that reflects the strength of growth achieved across the sector as a whole.
