EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.709 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against the major currencies by the end of trading today, Sunday, 5 December 2025, as the index value rose to 39.709 points by the end of today’s trading, compared to 39.613 points at the end of last Thursday’s trading.
The rise in the pound index came as a result of its increase against the US dollar, the euro, the British pound, the Japanese yen, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar declined from 47.61 pounds to 47.54 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from 47.51 pounds to 47.44 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the euro also declined from 55.60 pounds to 55.35 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price fell from 55.48 pounds to 55.23 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the British pound decreased from 63.60 pounds to 63.38 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price dropped from 63.46 pounds to 63.23 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also declined from 30.80 pounds to 30.60 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from 30.74 pounds to 30.54 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan decreased from 6.73 pounds to 6.72 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price in Egypt declined from 6.71 pounds to 6.70 pounds at the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham also fell from 12.96 pounds to 12.94 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from 12.93 pounds to 12.91 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from 12.68 pounds to 12.66 pounds by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price decreased from 12.65 pounds to 12.64 pounds by the end of today’s trading.
