EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.638 points at today's trading

The Egyptian pound index recorded an increase against major currencies at the close of trading on Sunday, December 14, 2025, as the index rose to 39.638 points at the end of today’s session, compared with 39.610 points at the close of last Thursday’s trading.
The rise in the pound index was driven by its appreciation against the US dollar, the British pound, the Japanese yen, the Chinese yuan, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal, while it declined against the euro at the close of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar declined from EGP 47.58 to EGP 47.53 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price fell from EGP 47.48 to EGP 47.43 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the British pound decreased from EGP 63.71 to EGP 63.58 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price declined from EGP 63.56 to EGP 63.41 at the close of the session.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen also fell from EGP 30.56 to EGP 30.50 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price declined from EGP 30.49 to EGP 30.43 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan declined from EGP 6.74 to EGP 6.73 by the end of today’s session, while the average buying price in Egypt remained stable at EGP 6.72 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 12.95 to EGP 12.94 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price declined from EGP 12.92 to EGP 12.91 at the close of the session.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal fell from EGP 12.68 to EGP 12.66 by the end of today’s trading, and the average buying price declined from EGP 12.65 to EGP 12.64 at the close of trading.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the euro increased from EGP 55.75 to EGP 55.81 by the end of today’s trading, while the average buying price rose from EGP 55.62 to EGP 55.68 at the close of the session.
