EGP index increased against a basket of major currencies to 39.638 points at today's trading

The Egyptian Pound Index rose against major currencies at the close of trading on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, with the index reaching 39.638 points at the end of the session, compared to 39.624 points at the close of trading on Monday.

The increase in the Pound Index came as a result of its appreciation against the US dollar, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal, while it declined against the euro, the British pound sterling, and the Japanese yen, and remained stable against the Chinese yuan by the end of today’s trading.

The average selling price of the US dollar declined from EGP 47.51 to EGP 47.64 at the close of trading, while the average buying price fell from EGP 47.41 to EGP 47.36 by the end of the session.

The average selling price of the UAE dirham declined from EGP 12.93 to EGP 12.92, while the average buying price decreased from EGP 12.90 to EGP 12.89 at the close of trading.

The average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from EGP 12.66 to EGP 12.55, while the average buying price fell from EGP 12.63 to EGP 12.62 by the end of today’s trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 55.85 to EGP 55.86, while the average buying price increased from EGP 55.72 to EGP 55.73 at the close of trading.

The average selling price of the British pound sterling increased from EGP 63.64 to EGP 63.75, while the average buying price rose from EGP 63.47 to EGP 63.61 by the end of the session.

The average selling price of the Japanese yen increased from EGP 30.65 to EGP 30.68, while the average buying price rose from EGP 30.58 to EGP 30.61 at the close of trading.

Meanwhile, the average selling price of the Chinese yuan remained stable at EGP 6.74, while the average buying price also remained unchanged at EGP 6.72 by the end of today’s trading.
