Al Baraka, AUB Egypt, Suez Canal Bank, fastest growing banks in terms of personal loans in 9M
Al Baraka Bank – Egypt topped First Bank list of fastest growing banks in terms of personal loans during the first 9 months of 2022
The bank’s personal loans portfolio posted EGP 3.3 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 1.9 billion at the end of 2021 with a growth rate of 73.68 %.
First bank rating list, which included 22 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, revealed that all the banks under analysis recorded positive growth rates in terms of personal loans portfolio during the period from January to September 2022.
Ahli United Bank came in second place with a growth rate of 70%, bringing total personal loans to EGP 1.9 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 1.1 billion at the end of December 2021.
Suez Canal Bank came in third place with a growth rate of 54.11%, bringing total personal loans to EGP 2.5 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 1.6 billion at the end of December 2021.
aiBank was ranked fourth with a growth rate of 41.65 %, bringing total personal loans to EGP 4.05 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 2.1 billion at the end of December 2021. It was followed by the Export Development Bank of Egypt-Ebank with a growth rate of 34.91% during the same period
Arab African International Bank was the sixth among the fastest growing banks in terms of personal loans during the first 9 months of 2022. The bank’s personal loans portfolio posted EGP 7.3 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 5.5 billion at the end of 2021 with a growth rate of 33.20 %.
The National Bank of Egypt was ranked the seventh with a growth rate of 28.20 %, bringing total personal loans to EGP 169.1 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 131.9 billion at the end of December 2021.
Housing and Development Bank was ranked the eighth with a growth rate of 27 %, bringing total personal loans to EGP 8.6 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 6.8 billion at the end of December 2021.
Ahli Bank of Kuwait was ranked the ninth with a growth rate of 25.38 %, bringing total personal loans to EGP 11.2 billion at the end of September 2022, compared to EGP 8.9 billion at the end of December 2021. It was followed by the Attijariwafa Bank with a growth rate o24.7% during the same period.
