Suez Canal Bank, «ADIB-Egypt», and «Emirates NBD» Lead Fastest-Growing Banks in Assets During 2025
Suez Canal Bank retains the top position for the second consecutive year, while «ADIB-Egypt», «Housing & Development Bank», «ABK-Egypt», and «Attijariwafa Bank» continue to rank among the top 10 fastest-growing banks in assets.
13 banks exceeded the sector’s average growth rate of 16%, compared to 12 banks below the average in 2025.
Private sector banks strengthened their presence among the top 10, capturing 8 positions out of 21 private banks included in the ranking.
Public sector banks secured 2 positions within the top 10 out of a total of 4 banks.
The «First Bank» report tracking the evolution of asset portfolios of banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector during 2025 showed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 49.9%, as its asset portfolio reached EGP 270.12 bn by the end of December, compared to EGP 180.19 bn at the end of 2024.
«ADIB-Egypt» ranked second, with its asset portfolio growing by 33% during 2025, reaching EGP 344.15 bn by year-end, compared to EGP 258.84 bn in 2024.
Emirates NBD ranked third, with its asset portfolio increasing by 30.6% during the year, reaching EGP 207.53 bn by the end of 2025, compared to EGP 158.93 bn in 2024.
The «First Bank» analysis covered asset portfolios of 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data was available, showing that all banks recorded positive growth rates in 2025.
The ranking also confirmed that Suez Canal Bank maintained its position as the fastest-growing bank in assets for the second consecutive year, reflecting its ability to sustain strong and consistent growth momentum.
Meanwhile, «ADIB-Egypt», «Housing & Development Bank», «ABK-Egypt», and «Attijariwafa Bank» maintained their presence among the top 10 fastest-growing banks in assets compared to 2024 data.
At the sector level, data showed that 13 banks achieved asset growth rates above the sector average of 16%, according to the Central Bank of Egypt, while 12 banks recorded growth rates below this average during 2025.
Private banks further strengthened their presence among the top 10, accounting for 8 positions out of 21 private banks included in the ranking.
As for public banks, they secured 2 positions among the top 10 out of 4 banks, with Housing & Development Bank ranking fifth and United Bank placing tenth.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned above are based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank as of year-end 2025.
