EGP index decreased against a basket of major currencies to 35.518 points at today's trading
The Egyptian pound index declined against major currencies at the close of trading on Monday, May 11, falling to 35.518 points, compared to 35.675 points at the close of trading on Sunday.
The pound's decline was attributed to its depreciation against the US dollar, the euro, the Chinese yuan, the British pound, the UAE dirham, the Saudi riyal, and the Japanese yen at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the US dollar rose from EGP 52.61 to EGP 52.87 at the close of trading, while the average buying price increased from EGP 52.51 to EGP 52.77.
Similarly, the average selling price of the euro rose from EGP 62.02 to EGP 62.25 at the close of trading, and the average buying price climbed from EGP 61.88 to EGP 62.12.
The average selling price of the British pound rose from 71.74 Egyptian pounds to 71.97 Egyptian pounds at the close of trading today, while the average buying price increased from 71.59 Egyptian pounds to 71.82 Egyptian pounds.
Similarly, the average selling price of the Chinese yuan rose from 7.74 Egyptian pounds to 7.78 Egyptian pounds at the close of trading today, and the average buying price increased from 7.72 Egyptian pounds to 7.76 Egyptian pounds.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen rose from 33.59 Egyptian pounds to 33.66 Egyptian pounds at the close of trading today, and the average buying price increased from 33.51 Egyptian pounds to 33.58 Egyptian pounds.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham rose from EGP 14.32 to EGP 14.39 at the close of trading today, while the average buying price increased from EGP 14.30 to EGP 14.37.
Similarly, the average selling price of the Saudi riyal rose from EGP 14.02 to EGP 14.09 at the close of trading today, and the average buying price increased from EGP 14 to EGP 14.07.
