EGP index rose against a basket of major currencies to 36.265 points at today's trading
The Egyptian Pound Index rose against major currencies at the close of trading on Thursday, June 4, increasing to 36.265 points from 36.202 points at the end of Wednesday’s session.
The rise in the Egyptian Pound Index was driven by gains against the U.S. dollar, euro, Chinese yuan, Japanese yen, UAE dirham, and Saudi riyal by the end of today’s trading.
The average selling price of the U.S. dollar declined from EGP 51.99 to a lower level by the close of trading, while the average buying price fell from EGP 51.89 to a lower level at the end of the session.
The average selling price of the euro decreased from EGP 60.37 to EGP 60.39 at the close of trading, while the average buying price fell from EGP 60.24 to EGP 60.26 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the Chinese yuan dropped from EGP 7.68 to EGP 7.66, while the average buying price declined from EGP 7.67 to EGP 7.64 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Japanese yen fell from EGP 32.53 to EGP 32.46, and the average buying price declined from EGP 32.46 to EGP 32.39 by the end of the session.
The average selling price of the UAE dirham decreased from EGP 14.15 to EGP 14.12, while the average buying price fell from EGP 14.13 to EGP 14.09 at the close of trading.
The average selling price of the Saudi riyal declined from EGP 13.85 to EGP 13.82, and the average buying price dropped from EGP 13.82 to EGP 13.79 by the end of the session.
Meanwhile, the average selling price of the British pound sterling fell from EGP 69.90 to EGP 69.82, while the average buying price declined from EGP 69.75 to EGP 69.67 at the close of trading.
