Suez Canal Bank, EBank, and Crédit Agricole are the best banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange in the rate of utilizing deposits to grant financing at the end of March 2026
"Suez Canal" tops the list, coming from second place in the 2025 ranking.
3 banks maintain their positions within the top five during the first quarter of 2026 and 2025.
11 banks achieve deposit utilization rates for granting financing ranging between 58.02% and 33.64% by the end of 2025.. and "Faisal Islamic" records the lowest level among banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange.
Islamic banks capture only one seat out of 3 banks within the top five in the rate of utilizing deposits to grant financing.
The "First Bank" list for the best banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange in the rate of utilizing deposits to grant financing at the end of March 2026 revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list, with a rate of 58%, after the volume of its customer loans recorded about 132.88 billion pounds at the end of March 2026, and its total customer deposits reached 229.04 billion pounds at the end of the same period.
Export Development Bank "EBank" snatched second place, with a utilization rate of 57.7%, as its customer loan portfolio recorded about 91.55 billion pounds at the end of March 2026, and its customer deposit portfolio reached 158.52 billion pounds at the end of the same period.
Crédit Agricole Bank occupied third place, with a utilization rate of 54.5%, after its customer loan portfolio reached about 65.16 billion pounds at the end of March 2026, and its customer deposit portfolio reached about 119.65 billion pounds at the end of last March.
The list, which included all banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (numbering 12 banks), showed that 11 of the analyzed banks achieved good utilization rates ranging between 58% and 33.6%, while Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt continued to walk against the banks' direction, recording the lowest rate of utilizing deposits to grant financing at the end of March 2026.
The ranking revealed that private banks acquired 4 seats within the list of the top 5 banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange in the rate of utilizing deposits to grant financing, which included: "Crédit Agricole", Suez Canal Bank, "saib", and "Al Baraka".
The ranking showed the presence of Al Baraka Bank - Egypt as the only Islamic bank within the top 5 banks, out of three Islamic banks included in the ranking.
The ranking also revealed that Suez Canal Bank topped the list, while the ranking witnessed noticeable changes in favor of a number of banks, as "EBank" advanced three places to rise from eighth place in the 2025 ranking to fifth place by the end of March 2026. Al Baraka Bank - Egypt also climbed two places to advance from sixth place to fourth place during the same period, reflecting a relative improvement in the positions of these banks compared to the end of last year.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the analysis above are according to the announced standalone financial statements for each bank at the end of March 2026.
