CBE: Reserve Money rises to EGP 2.75 tn at end-June 2026

According to the latest monthly data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Reserve Money (M0) rose to EGP 2.75 tn at the end of June 2026, from EGP 2.43 tn at the end of 2025, marking a 13.5% increase, or EGP 326.83 bn.

According to the CBE, Reserve Money (M0) comprises Currency in circulation outside the CBE and Banks' deposits in local currency with the CBE.

The data showed that Currency in circulation outside the CBE increased by 17.2% during the first half of 2026 to EGP 1.82 tn at the end of June, compared with EGP 1.55 tn at the end of 2025.

Meanwhile, Banks' deposits in local currency with the CBE rose to EGP 935.55 bn at the end of June 2026, from EGP 875.86 bn at the end of 2025.
