The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector in terms of financing during Q1 2026 revealed that Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB–Egypt» maintained the top position, as its financing portfolio increased by approximately 15.37% to reach EGP 178.66 bn at the end of March 2026, compared to EGP 154.87 bn at the end of 2025.

«Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank» ranked second, as its financing portfolio increased by approximately 15% during the first quarter of the current year, reaching EGP 80.28 billion at the end of March 2026, compared to EGP 69.80 bn at the end of 2025.

Meanwhile, «Emirates NBD» ranked third, with its financing volume rising by approximately 14.60% to EGP 109.53 bn at the end of March 2026, compared to EGP 95.57 bn at the end of 2025.

The «First Bank» ranking monitored the development of financing portfolios at 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available. The ranking showed that all banks achieved positive growth rates during Q1 2026.

Furthermore, the total financing volume of 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian market reached EGP 1.52 Tn at the end of March 2026, recording a growth rate of 8.2%, compared to EGP 1.41 Tn at the end of 2025.

The ranking showed that banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange secured two positions among the top five, out of the three listed banks included in the ranking: «QNB» and «ADIB».

Meanwhile, two Gulf banks maintained their presence among the top five between 2025 and March 2026: «Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank» and «ADIB».

On the other hand, «QNB» topped Gulf banks in terms of financing volume, with its financing portfolio reaching approximately EGP 492.75 bn at the end of March 2026. «FABMISR» ranked second, with total financing amounting to EGP 199.9 bn during the same period.

It is worth noting that all figures and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements announced by each bank as of the end of March 2026.
