Kuwait Finance House, FABMISR and QNB Egypt Are the Fastest-Growing Gulf Banks in Retail Deposits During Q1 2026
The «First Bank» ranking of the fastest-growing Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector in terms of retail deposits during Q1 2026 revealed that Kuwait Finance House – Egypt «KFH–Egypt» claimed the top spot, as its retail deposit portfolio increased by approximately 18.4% to reach EGP 44.96 bn at the end of March 2026, compared to EGP 37.97 bn at the end of 2025. «FABMISR» ranked second, as its retail deposit portfolio increased by approximately 16.1% during the first quarter of the current year, reaching EGP 86.64 bn at the end of March 2026, compared to EGP 74.62 bn at the end of 2025. Meanwhile, «QNB» Egypt ranked third, with its retail deposits rising by approximately 11.8% to EGP 321.69 bn at the end of March 2026, compared to EGP 287.61 bn at the end of 2025. The «First Bank» ranking monitored the development of retail deposit portfolios at 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available. The ranking showed that all banks achieved positive growth rates during Q1 2026. Furthermore, the total retail deposits of 10 Gulf banks operating in the Egyptian market reached EGP 965.92 bn at the end of March 2026, recording a growth rate of 10.4%, compared to EGP 874.95 bn at the end of 2025. The ranking showed that Islamic banks secured one spot among the top five, out of the three banks included in the ranking: «Kuwait Finance House». Meanwhile, two Gulf banks maintained their presence among the top five between 2025 and March 2026: «Kuwait Finance House» and «National Bank of Kuwait».
