The United Bank tops EGX-listed banks in direct corporate loan growth in H1 2026
The United Bank climbs from last place in 2025 to top the ranking

The United Bank topped First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing EGX-listed banks by direct corporate loans in H1 2026, recording growth of 36.69 per cent. Its portfolio reached EGP 20.81 billion at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 15.22 billion at end-2025, lifting the bank from last place in the 2025 ranking to first.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB Egypt) ranked second, with direct corporate loans growing 32.70 per cent in H1 2026 to about EGP 118.58 billion at end-June, from EGP 89.36 billion at end-2025.
Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) ranked third, after its direct corporate loan portfolio rose 23.41 per cent in H1 2026 to EGP 312.23 billion at end-June, compared with EGP 253 billion at end-2025.
The ranking, which covered 11 EGX-listed banks, showed that all banks recorded positive growth in their syndicated loan portfolios during H1 2026.
ADIB Egypt, Suez Canal Bank, Housing and Development Bank (HDB) and CIB retained their positions among the top five in H1 2026 compared with 2025, although their rankings changed notably.
Suez Canal Bank fell from first to fourth place, while ADIB Egypt climbed from fourth to second. HDB remained fifth, while CIB slipped from second to third.
Total direct corporate loans across the 11 EGX-listed banks reached about EGP 825.07 billion at end-June 2026, compared with about EGP 690.51 billion at end-2025, representing growth of 19.49 per cent over the period and reflecting continued expansion in financing directed to the corporate segment.
CIB retained its position as the largest EGX-listed bank by direct corporate loans at end-June 2026, with a portfolio of about EGP 312.23 billion, ahead of QNB Egypt, which ranked second with direct corporate loans of about EGP 155.69 billion.
All figures and growth rates cited in the analysis are based on the standalone financial statements published by each bank for the period ended June 2026.
