EGBANK, Al Baraka lead EGX-listed banks by resource deployment ratio at end-June 2026
EGBANK tops the ranking, reflecting strong deployment of resources into loans and financial investments
Only the top five banks exceed the 82.55% average resource deployment ratio among EGX-listed banks at end-June 2026
Islamic banks secure two of the top five spots, with three Islamic banks included in the ranking
EGBANK topped First Bank’s index of the most efficient Egyptian Exchange (EGX)-listed banks by resource deployment ratio at end-June 2026, recording a ratio of 95.93 per cent. The bank deployed EGP 130.32bn of its traditional resources across customer loans and financial investments.
EGBANK’s total traditional resources reached EGP 135.84bn at the end of the same period, reflecting its ability to channel the bulk of its resources into banking investments.
The index, developed by First Bank’s Research Centre, measures the deployment of traditional resources, deposits plus equity, into loans and financial investments across all 12 banks listed on the EGX at end-June 2026.
Al Baraka Bank Egypt ranked second, with a resource deployment ratio of 91.86 per cent at end-June 2026. The bank deployed EGP 131.99bn of its traditional resources across customer loans and financial investments, while its total traditional resources stood at EGP 143.69bn at the end of the same period.
Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) ranked third with a resource deployment ratio of 91.21 per cent. The bank deployed EGP 171.04bn across customer loans and financial investments, against total traditional resources of around EGP 187.53bn at end-June 2026.
Across the ranking, only the top five banks exceeded the average resource deployment ratio of 82.55 per cent recorded by EGX-listed banks at end-June 2026, reflecting the highest levels of resource deployment among the banks covered by the ranking.
Islamic banks also maintained a strong presence among the leading positions, with two Islamic banks ranking among the top five out of the three included in the ranking.
Al Baraka Bank Egypt ranked second, while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB Egypt) ranked fourth, reflecting higher resource deployment levels among Islamic banks relative to the average recorded by the banks covered by the ranking.
