Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) advanced two places in First Bank’s ranking of the 100 largest banks in the Arab world at end-June 2026, climbing to 36th from 38th in 2025, supported by the efforts of Hisham Ezz Al-Arab, Chairman and Board Member, and his team.

The advance was supported by strong growth in total assets, which rose to USD 34.24bn at end-June 2026, from USD 30.11bn at end-2025, representing half-year growth of 13.7 per cent.

This performance underscores the bank’s growing competitive strength across the Arab region, placing it on an upward trajectory that could support further gains in the ranking if the same pace of performance is sustained.

Alongside asset growth, CIB recorded strong performance during the year, with net profit rising to USD 798.60m in the first half of 2026, from USD 673.58m in the same period of 2025, representing growth of 18.6 per cent and an increase of USD 125.02m.

Net interest income (NII) rose by around 19.4 per cent to USD 1.23bn in the first half of 2026, compared with USD 1.03bn in the corresponding period of 2025, an increase of around USD 199.67m.

Net fee and commission income jumped to USD 117.26m in the first half of 2026, from USD 83.15m in the same period of 2025, representing growth of around 41 per cent.

On deposits, the bank’s portfolio increased by around 14.5 per cent during the first half of the year to USD 26.54bn at end-June 2026, from USD 23.17bn at end-2025.

Total customer loans rose to USD 12.85bn at end-June 2026, from USD 11.35bn at end-2025, representing half-year growth of 13.2 per cent.
