KFH-Egypt, BANK NXT and EBank lead personal financing growth in H1 2026
KFH-Egypt tops the ranking after climbing from third place in 2025, while BANK NXT advances to second

Personal loans across 24 banks reaches EGP 637.22bn, up 13.3% in H1 2026
Kuwait Finance House – Egypt (KFH-Egypt) topped First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing banks operating in Egypt by personal loans during the first half of 2026, climbing from third place in the 2025 ranking.
KFH-Egypt portfolio grew 43.2 per cent to EGP 11.41bn at end-June 2026, from EGP 7.97bn at end-2025.
BANK NXT secured second place after its personal loan portfolio expanded 30.2 per cent during the first six months of 2026 to EGP 17.92bn at end-June, compared with EGP 13.76bn at end-2025.
Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) ranked third, with its personal loan portfolio rising 30.1 per cent during the first half of 2026 to EGP 15.09bn at end-June, from EGP 11.59bn at end-2025.
First Bank’s ranking tracked personal loan portfolios across 24 banks operating in Egypt for which financial data were available. Of these, 23 recorded positive growth during the first half of 2026, while one registered a significant decline.
Six banks retained their presence among the 10 fastest-growing banks by personal loans in both the 2025 and H1 2026 rankings. KFH-Egypt climbed from third place in 2025 to the top of the ranking, while BANK NXT advanced from fifth to second.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) ranked sixth in H1 2026, down from fourth place in the 2025 ranking, while National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt (NBK-Egypt) advanced from 10th to eighth.
Housing and Development Bank (HDB) slipped from eighth place in 2025 to ninth at end-June 2026, while Suez Canal Bank ranked 10th in H1 2026, down from first place in the 2025 ranking.
Across the banking sector, combined personal loans at the 24 banks reached approximately EGP 637.22bn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 562.29bn at end-2025, representing growth of 13.3 per cent during the first half of the year.
