NBE, Banque Misr lead corporate depositor confidence over three years
NBE dominates First Bank’s Corporate Depositor Confidence Index, capturing nearly 30% of three-year deposit growth
Three foreign banks rank among the top 10, out of 11 included in the ranking
Corporate deposits across 26 banks reach EGP 5.91tn at end-2025, up EGP 2.76tn over three years
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) topped First Bank’s Corporate Depositor Confidence Index over the past three years, recording the largest increase in corporate deposits.
The bank's portfolio rose by approximately EGP 816.09bn to EGP 1.69tn at end-2025, from around EGP 878.3bn at end-2022.
Banque Misr ranked second, with corporate deposits increasing by approximately EGP 253.97bn to EGP 842.54bn at end-2025, from around EGP 588.58bn at end-2022.
Arab African International Bank (AAIB) secured third place after its corporate deposit portfolio expanded by approximately EGP 244.88bn to EGP 390.19bn at end-2025, from around EGP 145.31bn at end-2022.
First Bank’s Corporate Depositor Confidence Index measures banks’ ability to expand corporate deposits by tracking the absolute increase in balances received from institutional customers over the period under review, capturing the scale of each bank’s actual expansion in this segment.
The index tracked corporate deposit portfolios across 26 banks operating in Egypt, with all institutions included in the ranking recording increases over the past three years.
Across the 26 banks, corporate deposits reached EGP 5.91tn at end-2025, compared with EGP 3.16tn at end-2022, an increase of EGP 2.76tn over three years.
Islamic banks secured just one top-10 position out of the four included in the ranking — Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt), Kuwait Finance House – Egypt (KFH-Egypt), Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt and Al Baraka Bank Egypt. ADIB-Egypt was the only Islamic bank among the top 10, ranking sixth.
Foreign banks secured three places among the top 10, out of the 11 included in the ranking: QNB Egypt, ADIB-Egypt and HSBC.
