Suez Canal Bank leads net interest income growth in H1 2026
Suez Canal Bank’s Net Interest Income (NII) rose by 47.4 per cent to EGP 5.70 bn compared with EGP 3.87 bn in H1 2025, recording the fastest growth among banks.
This strong performance moved the bank to the top of FirstBank’s list of the fastest-growing banks operating in Egypt in net interest income in H1 2026, up from third place in H1 2025.
Suez Canal Bank’s net profit rose by 17.7 per cent to EGP 3.63 bn in H1 2026, compared with EGP 3.08 bn in H1 2025, an increase of EGP 545 mn.
Net interest income climbed by 47.4 per cent to EGP 5.70 bn in H1 2026, compared with EGP 3.87 billion in H1 2025, an increase of EGP 1.83 bn.
Net fee and commission income saw a rise of 10.3 per cent to EGP 763.6 mn in H1 2026, compared with EGP 692.1 mn in H1 2025.
Total assets advanced by 13.6 per cent to EGP 306.98 bn in H1 2026, compared with EGP 270.12 billion at end-December 2025, an increase of EGP 36.86 bn.
Total customer deposits rose by 14.3 per cent to EGP 238.83 bn in H1 2026, compared with EGP 209.04 bn at end-December 2025, an increase of EGP 29.88 bn.
Total customer loans also increased by 10.8 per cent to EGP 135.57 bn in H1 2026, compared with EGP 122.37 bn at end-December 2025, an increase of EGP 13.01 bn.
