E Bank Tops listed banks in asset coverage ratio for deposits by end of 2022

 E Babk was able to achieve a strong performance during 2022 in terms of its financial soundness index, and topped First Bank list of listed banks in asset coverage ratio for deposits at a rate of 132.76% by the end of last year, after total assets reached EGP96.7 bn, while total deposits portfolio reached EGP 72.9 bn by the end of 2022.

This percentage is very high, and reflects the bank's great ability to fulfill its obligations towards depositors, as deposits represent about 75.32% of total assets.

The bank’s capital adequacy ratio increased to 15.95% by the end of 2022, compared to 14.14% by the end of 2021, nearly double the regulatory limit set by the Central Bank of Egypt, according to Basel decisions, which amounts to 12.5%.

The financial leverage ratio, which reflects the relationship between the first tranche of capital used in the capital adequacy ratio (after exclusions), and the bank’s assets (inside and outside the balance sheet ), un weighted with risk weights, reached 8.10% by the end of 2022, exceeding the supervisory limit set by the Central Bank of Egypt according to Basel, 3%.

While of non-performing loans increased slightly to reach 3.59% at the end of 2022, compared to 3.28% at the end of 2021.

net profit growth rose by about 145.10%, recording EGP1.229 bn during 2022, compared to EGP 501.4 mn in 2021.

Assets portfolio jumped by 26.93% during 2022, to record EGP 96.724 bn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP 76.202 bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGL20.522 bn.

 total financing to clients, to EGP44.817 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP36.350 bn by the end of 2021, with a growth rate of 23.29% on an annual basis.

The bank’s deposit portfolio increased by a growth rate of 13.16% over the past year, after the bank was able to increase its deposits by EGP8.473 bn, to record EGP72.854 bn by the end of 2022, compared to EGP 64.381 bn by the end of 2021.
