A slight improvement in QNB Al Ahli's non-performing loan ratio by end of March 2023

The non-performing loan ratio -( NPL ratio) at QNB Al Ahli witnessed a slight decline during the first quarter of this year, as it decreased to 4.56% at the end of March 2023, compared to 4.92% at the end of 2022.

due to the decrease in the value of non-performing loans owed by corporates to EGP10.39 bn at the end of the first quarter of this year, compared to EGP 10.44 bn at the end of 2022, a decline of EGP 43.61 mn.

The bank also succeeded in causing a slight decline in NPL ratio of individuals, as it decreased to EGP 915.63 mn at the end of last March, compared to EGP 924.63 mn at the end of 2022, a decline of EGP8.99 mn.

Corporate's NPL ratio decreased to 5.18% of the bank’s total financing for corporates at the end of the first quarter of last year, compared to 5.62% at the end of 2022.

NPL ratio of individuals also decreased to 1.94% of total financing for individuals at the end of March 2023, compared to 2.04% at the end of 2022.

This reflects the extent of the bank's seriousness during the first quarter of this year in dealing with NPL ratio, especially after the large increase it witnessed during the last quarter of 2022, which was the increase in the value of corporate's NPL ratio by EGP 2.53 bn, which was reflected in the increase in NPL ratio of the bank at the time.

It is worth noting that QNB Al Ahli's financing for individuals increased by 4.13%, to record EGP47.09 bn at the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 45.23 bn at the end of 2022, an increase of EGP 1.87 bn.

The bank’s loans to corporates jumped to EGP 200.79 bn at the end of the first quarter of this year, compared to EGP 185.54 bn at the end of 2022, achieving a growth rate of 8.22%, and an increase of EGP15.25 bn.

Total loans and facilities to customers increased by a growth rate of 7.42%, an increase of EGP 17.1 bn, to reach EGP247.9 bn at the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 230.8 bn at the end of 2022.
