alBaraka Bank, SC Bank, Faisal Bank, and NBE, Top the fastest growing banks in retail loans
First Bank list of the fastest growing banks in retail loans during the year 2022 revealed that alBaraka Bank – Egypt topped the list with a growth rate of 74.44%, after the total portfolio recorded EGP 4.3 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP2.5 bn at the end of December 2021.
Suez Canal Bank occupied second place with a growth rate of 54.11% over the past year, bringing its total portfolio of individual loans to EGP 2.8 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 1.8 bn at the end of December 2021.
Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt came in third place, after total retail loans increased by a growth rate of 50.6% over the past year, to record EGP 2.5 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP1.7 bn at the end of December 2021.
National Bank of Egypt came in fourth place after the bank’s total portfolio increased by a growth rate of 44.65% over the past year, after recording EGP230 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP159 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by E Bank in Fifth place with a growth rate of 41.85% during the same period.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt ranked sixth, with a growth rate of 33.03% over the past year, after its total portfolio recorded EGP 12.2 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 9.2 bn at the end of December 2021.
Housing and Development Bank ranked seventh after its total portfolio increased by a growth rate of 31.97% over the past year, to record EGP 21.2 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 16.1 bn at the end of December 2021.
CIB came in eighth place, with a growth rate of 29.77% over the past year, bringing the bank’s total portfolio to EGP 53.3 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP 41.1 bn at the end of December 2021, followed by Attijariwafa bank in ninth place with a growth rate of 28.12%. during the same period.
QNB Al Ahli came in tenth place with a growth rate of 24.58% over the past year, after its total portfolio recorded EGP 45.2 bn at the end of December 2022, compared to EGP36.3 bn at the end of December 2021.
