CBE: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate fell to 38.6% by April 2023end

The Central Bank of Egypt revealed, in a statement issued on its official website, today, that the annual core inflation rate decreased, to record 38.6% in April 2023, compared to 39.5% at the end of March 2023.
The Central Bank added, in its statement, that CPI recorded a monthly rate of 1.7% in April 2023, compared to a monthly rate of 2.4% in the same month of the previous year, and a monthly rate of 2.5% in March 2023.
The Consumer Price Index For All Urban Consumers, announced by for CAPMAS on May 10, 2023, recorded a monthly rate of 1.7% in April 2023, compared to a rate of 3.3% in the same month of the previous year, and a monthly rate of 2.7% in March 2023.
The annual inflation rate also recorded 30.6% in April 2023, compared to 32.7% in March 2023.
Data on inflation has been included on the Central Bank of Egypt website. The monthly inflation analysis will be published on May 15, 2023.
