alBaraka bank, Faisal bank, and EBank, Fastest-growing listed banks in personal loans during Q1-2023
First Bank's list revealed the fastest-growing listed banks in personal loans during the first quarter of the current year. alBaraka - Egypt topped the list with a growth rate of 24.53%, as its total loan portfolio increased from EGP3.7 bn at the end of December 2022 to EGP4.7 bn at the end of March 2023.
The list, which included 11 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that 9 banks achieved positive growth rates in their total personal loan portfolios, while 2 banks experienced a decline in their total personal loans during the first quarter of 2023.
Faisal Islamic Bank came second, with a growth rate of 17.97% during the first quarter of the current year. The bank's total personal loan portfolio reached EGP347.3 mn at the end of March 2023, compared to EGP294.4 mn at the end of December 2022.
E Bank occupied the third position with a growth rate of 12.67% during the first quarter of the current year. Its total personal loan portfolio increased from EGP3.8 bn at the end of December 2022 to EGP4.3 bn at the end of March 2023.
Suez Canal Bank came in fourth place with a growth rate of 12.64% during the first 3 months of the current year. Its total personal loan portfolio jumped to EGP2.9 bn at the end of March 2023, compared to EGP2.6 bn at the end of December 2022.
saib ranked fifth with a growth rate of 9.15% during the first quarter of the current year. Its total personal loan portfolio increased from EGP7.8 bn at the end of December 2022 to EGP8.5 bn at the end of March 2023.
