EBank, ADIB Egypt, and QNB Al Ahli, Top Listed Banks in Loans to Deposit Ratio by March-2023end
First Bank list revealed the best banks listed in Loans to deposit ratio (LDR) by the end of the previous March, with Export Development Bank of Egypt topping the list with LDR of 65.59%. The bank's total customer loans reached EGP52.7 bn, while its total deposit portfolio amounted to EGP80.3 bn by the end of March 2023.
First Bank list monitored LDR for among 11 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange. The list showed that all banks included in the analysis achieved LDR from 38.99% to 65.59% by the end of March 2023. However, Faisal Islamic Bank deviated from the approach of other listed banks, recording the lowest LDR by the end of the same period.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt secured the second place with LDR of 62.71%, as its total customer loan portfolio reached EGP63.8 bn, and its deposit portfolio amounted to EGP 101.7 bn by the end of March 2023.
Qatar National Bank Al Ahli ranked third with 55.94%, following a total increase in customer loans to EGP247.9 bn, while its deposit portfolio reached EGP443.1 bn by the end of the first quarter of the current year.
Arab Investment Bank obtained the fourth place with 54.93%. The bank's total customer loan portfolio reached EGP 45.8 bn by the end of March 2023, while its deposit portfolio recorded EGP83.4 bn during the same period.
Crédit Agricole - Egypt ranked fifth with a 53.02%, as its total customer loan portfolio reached about EGP36 bn, while its deposit portfolio amounted to EGP 67.9 bn by the end of March 2023. followed by alBaraka and Suez Canal banks with 50.31% and 48.37% respectively by the end of the same period of the current year.
It should be noted that all the figures and LDRs mentioned above are based on separate financial statements announced for each bank by the end of March 2023.
