Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 19 October with decrease in the market cap by 1.3% to record EGP 325.268 bn compared to EGP 329.640 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.18% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 308.934 mn which represents 8.78% of the total trading volume today after 8.167 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.08% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase EGX70 only and turnover amounted EGP 101.4 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 2.26% and 22.216 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 1.1% to record 3.945 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.01% to record 6.021 points.
