Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 17 August with Increase in the market cap by 0.03% to record EGP 287.334 bn compared to EGP 287.245 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.87% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 198.588 mn which represents 11.33% of the total trading volume today after 4.545 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.80% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with Increase EGX70 only and turnover amounted EGP 38.2 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.52% and 18.130 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 0.10 % to record 3..650 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.20 % to record 5.390 points.
