The central risk management and information security sector, in coordination with the information technology sector of the Central Bank of Egypt, successfully completed the annual testing of the emergency plans and the business continuity program on Thursday, November 16, 2023, as an actual working day by working from the alternative business continuity headquarters and branches connected to the disaster recovery center.

This is within the framework of the Central Bank of Egypt's concern to implement the best international standards and practices in business continuity "ISO 22301"; to ensure and strengthen its capacity to respond to emergencies and respond quickly and effectively.

This was done in coordination with all its clients internally/externally, enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the Bank's actions in managing core activities and operations during times of crisis and providing all banking services with the required efficiency and quality, thus achieving banking stability and enhancing confidence in meeting the central Bank's domestic and international obligations.

The scope of the test included applying a set of specific and possible emergency scenarios according to the approved scope of the central bank's emergency plan, as well as measuring the bank's readiness and preparedness in such cases to emphasize the ability of alternative headquarters and the disaster recovery centre to work during emergencies to ensure the continuity of the central bank's functions and operations.
