Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Sunday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Sunday 28 January 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.7% to record EGP 469.866 bn compared to EGP 466.709 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.59% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 476.589 bn which represents 7.64% of the total trading volume today after 8.086 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.64% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 3.47% and 28.847 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 2.14% to record 6.775 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 2.41% to record 9.608 points.
