Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 19 February 2024 with increase in the market cap by 0.2% to record EGP 484.337 bn compared to EGP 483.452 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.78% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 672.251 mn which represents 10.12% of the total trading volume today after 9.217 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.57% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.12% and 29.498 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 1.64% to record 7.358 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 1.40% to record 10.490 points.
