Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 19 March 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 4.5% to record EGP 466.269 bn compared to EGP 488.136 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.90% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 535.199 mn which represents 13.48% of the total trading volume today after 7.521 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.24% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 85.5 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 1.43% and 29.091 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 1.16% to record 6.300 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.73% to record 9.031 points.
