Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 2 January 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 2.8% to record EGP 402.244 bn compared to EGP 400.398 bn at last Sunday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.50% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 620.798 mn which represents 18.68% of the total trading volume today after 9.359 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.80% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 2.44% and 25.501 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 3.06% to record 5.640 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 2.93% to record 7.919 points.
