Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Tuesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Tuesday 16 January 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.4% to record EGP 440.970 bn compared to EGP 434.793 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.33% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.113 bn which represents 17.23% of the total trading volume today after 17.131 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.90% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 2.62% and 26.938 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 1.27% to record 6.340 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 1.66% to record 8.965 points.
