Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 27 March 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 2.35% to record EGP 463.577 bn compared to EGP 474.747 bn at Yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.48% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 509.735 mn which represents 16.93% of the total trading volume today after 7.927 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.17% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 2.87% and 29.114 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 2.71% to record 6.702 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 2.93% to record 9.547 points.
