Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 3 January 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1% to record EGP 409.553 bn compared to EGP 413.592 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.09% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 326.194 mn which represents 9.04% of the total trading volume today after 5.469 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.43% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.37% and 25.652 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 0.41% to record 5.698 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 0.4% to record 8.181 points.
