Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 11 October with decrease in the market cap by 0.09% to record EGP 316.945 bn compared to EGP 316.974 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.88% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 307.728 bn which represents 14.88% of the total trading volume today after 5.887 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.02% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 1.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.36% and 19.913 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 0.55% to record 3.695 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 0.5% to record 5.512 points.
