Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 16 August with Increase in the market cap by 0.59% to record EGP 287.245 bn compared to EGP 285.549 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.51% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 417.934 mn which represents 16.15% of the total trading volume today after 8.692 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.99% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with Increase EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 146.4 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.54% and 18.166 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.38 % to record 3.675 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.06 % to record 5.419 points.
