Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 23 August with decrease in the market cap by 0.06% to record EGP 287.976 bn compared to EGP 288.150 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.66% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 284.211 mn which represents 10.92% of the total trading volume today after 6.047 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.82% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease only and turnover amounted EGP 51.6 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.46% and 18322 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 0.98 % to record 3. 739 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.92 % to record 5498 points.
