The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 5 July with decrease in the market cap by 1.56% or EGP 272.868 billion compared to EGP 277.174 billion at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.35% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 252.260 million which represents 16.05% of the total trading volume today after 6.965 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.98% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 46.5 million on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.49% at 17.564 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 1.31% to record 3.569 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 0.92% to record 5.274 points.
