The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 17 May with Increase in the market cap by 0.26% or EGP 271.220 billion compared to EGP 270.509 billion at the end yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.99% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 325.800 million which represents 16.97% of the total trading volume today after 7.412 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.39% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decreased and turnover amounted EGP 53.7 million on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 1.12% at 17.10 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 1.57% to record 3.045 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.68% to record 4.610 points.
