Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 22 February with decreased in the market cap by 1.05% or EGP 280.226 billion compared to EGP 283.198 billion at the end of Tuesday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 27.53% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 199.201 million which represents 11.95% of the total trading volume today after 5.352 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.22% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increases and turnover amounted EGP 25.4 million on shares.
The main index on the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” decreased by 1.54% at 17.102 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 1.49% to record 2.999 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.69% to record 4.482 points.
