Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 17 January 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 0.7% to record EGP 437.891 bn compared to EGP 440.970 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.99% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 736.611 mn which represents 11.98% of the total trading volume today after 11.828 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.85% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.67% and 27.163 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks declined by 0.65% to record 6.360 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.60% to record 9.035 points.
