Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday 31 January 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 3.8% to record EGP 490.943 bn compared to EGP 509.626 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.61% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.642 bn which represents 19.56% of the total trading volume today after 21.621 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.23% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 6.81% and 30.695 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks fell by 8.84% to record 7.005 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 8.87% to record 9.931 points.
