Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 4 April 2024 with increase in the market cap by 1.09% to record EGP 450.723 bn compared to EGP 445.862 bn at Yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.56% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 400.671 mn which represents 12.54% of the total trading volume today after 5.948 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.86% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 178.9 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 2.04% and 28.617 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 1.79% to record 6.485 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 1.86% to record 9.234 points.
