Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 11 January 2024 with increase in the market cap by 0.4% to record EGP 418.600 bn compared to EGP 417.022 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.45% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 390.873 mn which represents 10.40% of the total trading volume today after 6.678 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.50% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.21% and 25.575 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks rose by 1.11% to record 5.890 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 0.89% to record 8.404 points.
