Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 1 February 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 1.15% to record EGP 485.275 bn compared to EGP 490.943 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.94% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 595.921 mn which represents 11.53% of the total trading volume today after 9.124 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.83% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 0.54% and 28.485 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 4.79% to record 6.630 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 4.20% to record 9.362 points.
