Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 21 December with decrease in the market cap by 1.8% to record EGP 397.375 bn compared to EGP 404.550 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.79% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 543.961 mn which represents 14.83% of the total trading volume today after 8.869 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.84% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 2.14% and 25.077 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks Fell by 0.38% to record 5.487 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 0.91% to record 7.937 points.
