Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Thursday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Thursday 7 March 2024 with increase in the market cap by 8.3% to record EGP 500.538 bn compared to EGP 462.080 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.58% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.758 bn which represents 26.92% of the total trading volume today after 25.182 million shares were exchanged capturing 3.61% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 5.24% and 31.300 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks increased by 0.30% to record 7.316 points, and the broader index “EGX100” increased by 1.02% to record 10.372 points.
